Nationwide Highlights:
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as of April 3rd, are reporting 607 confirmed cases in 22 jurisdictions:
· 40% of the cases are children between five and 19 years old.
· 97% of the cases have either an unknown or unvaccinated status.
· 12% of the cases required hospitalization.
Texas Highlights:
The Texas Department of State Health Services reported as of April 4th, 481 cases:
· Gaines County remains the epicenter of the outbreak with 315 cases.
· 56 patients required hospitalization.
· 471 cases had an unknown or unvaccinated status.
New Mexico Highlights:
The Nex Mexico Department of Health is reporting 54 cases as of April 4:
· 36 had an unvaccinated status and 12 had an unknown vaccination status.
· A majority of the cases (27) are 18 years and older.
Oklahoma Highlights:
· As of April 4th, the State is reporting 10 cases (eight confirmed and two probable).
· All of the cases had an unknown or unvaccinated status.
Kansas Highlights:
As of April 2nd, the Kansas Division of Public Health reported 24 cases in six counties:
· A majority of the cases (15) were children who were five to 18 years old.
· 21 of the cases were unvaccinated.
