Highlights:
• The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released a timeline of the suspect’s movements leading up to the attack. The sequence of events was:
o October 30: Suspect arrived in New Orleans.
o October 31: He recorded himself riding a bicycle through the French Quarter.
o December 31: Entered the State at 2:30pm.
o December 31: At 9pm rented the F-150 truck and is seen in Gonzales, LA.
o December 31: The suspect at 10pm unloads the truck outside the rental home on Mandeville St.
o January 1: At 12:41am he parks the truck and walks to Royal St. and Governor Nichols St. in New Orleans.
o January 1: Places the first Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at 11:53am at Bourbon St. and Peter St. and places the second IED at Bourbon St. and Toulouse St. at 2:20am.
o January 1: At 3:15am the suspect used the truck as a lethal weapon before crashes into construction equipment.
• On January 5th, the FBI opened a Family Assistance Center (FAC). The services provided at this center include:
o Mental health services
o Lodging, financial, and legal assistance
o Personal effects return
o Crime victim reparations fund applications
o Needs assessment
o Crisis assistance
• Rouse Markets provided 300 meals to New Orleans Police Department’s Headquarters, District 1 and 8 personnel.
• The Governor announced that Mardi Gras has been updated to a Special Event Assessment Rating (SEAR) 1 event.
